On a scale of 1-10, where 1 is ‘rubbish, would rather have watched paint dry’, 5 is ‘average/it made no difference really’ and 10 is ‘it changed my life’ how would you rank:

The ‘teaching’ at the beginning of each Thursday: 7/8

The handouts/other written resources: 7

The motions each Thursday: 8

The judging each Thursday: 8/9

Thursdays as a whole: 8

Comments about the above: The teaching on Thursday is usually good, I really liked the way this week that Liz and Dan gave mini-speeches on the negatives and the positves of religion - for me things like that and model examples of how to lay out arguments to get optimum value from them are very useful.

The printed sheets could incorporate more of that on and would perhaps be useful if there as an archive of them on the MDU website, so if we've lost the sheet we can find a copy of it for example if we are going to Cambridge and have forgotten what open motions mean...I probably should think of a better example.

Motions and judging have always been quite good and given decent feedback and going to the pub after is always good.

How much do you understand from training? 1-10 where 1 is ‘it’s unintelligible’ and 10 is ‘it’s crystal clear’: 7/8

Concerning the information given both orally and in the handout on Thursday is there: Too much information, the right amount of information or far too little information? Too little/right amount (could do with a tiny bit more)

What are the things you have enjoy most on Thursdays?Debating obviously and going to the pub!

What are the things you have enjoy least on Thursdays?Crossing the road to get to stopford lol everything is fine.

On a scale of 1-10, are Thursdays fun? 1= dreadfully dull, 10= funner than a fox in fishnets on a Friday? 7/8

Do you have any suggestions for next term? Things you would like to see more of/less of, areas of knowledge not yet covered/not covered in sufficient detail, aspects of the rule of debating that you are confused about…. I kind of already answered this my my comments above, I would like to see more model arguments and perhaps some clarification of the types of points 1st prop and 1st opp should be dealing with, especially the first speakers.

How adequate has the information about IVs been?

Have you been easily able to find which IVs are on? Yes

Have you been easily able to say you are interested? Yes

Has there been adequate information about IVs? Yes and if on the occasions there isn't I just ask people.

In your opinion, has team selection been done fairly? Yes

If not, how could this be improved?

Any other comments? None that I can think of right now.

(Optional): How long have you been debating? University-level: Under 1 year (obviously), School-level: 3 years.
